Mr. Calabrese's expertise spans well beyond the disciplines typically offered by the average general contractor, which are usually cost estimates & comparisons, standards of care applied, failure of building components resulting in personal injury, & construction procedures.

Mr. Calabrese's skills & experience further speak to contractor professional diligence, site safety, earthquake cost analyses, contractor license laws, & water intrusion that results in the growth of mold, to cite some.

Empaneled by Arbitration Works, Incorporated, he arbitrated & mediated construction related cases for the Contractor’s State License Board for approximately 7 years, & was a participant in their “Industry Expert” program for close to 10 years, which entailed, among other things, documenting construction defects by way of detailed photographs & measurements, evaluating quality of workmanship & the standard of care applied, cost estimates, reasonableness of cost estimates submitted by others, testifying in administrative hearings, & writing analytical reports.

In 1995 he was selected as a preferred expert to participate in the Contractor’s State License Board’s Earthquake Response Team. The team specialized in evaluating the performance & professional diligence of other licensed contractors engaging in earthquake repairs, when a complaint was filed against them by a consumer.

He also taught the law portion of a course that prepared contractors to pass the state exam required to become licensed in California, which included but was not limited to, California State contractor licensing laws, site safety, management & contracts, OSHA & Workers’ Compensation laws.

Other licensed contractors have relied on his expertise to assist them in resolving & avoiding disputes in their own businesses. He has prepared & authored various contract forms designed to serve specific contracting specialty trades, & the unique issues each faces.

Mr. Calabrese has maintained a private construction forensics & expert consulting practice since 1995, & seeks to expand his knowledge in his field.
